Move done, House unpacked, ready to roll

So the move is done and we are for the most part settled.  I am completely comfy and in love with my studio space or “mom cave” as we call it.  It has been a crazy wonderful whirling of the last few months but in retrospect it’s all been pretty fantastic.  I look back at 2016 and I couldn’t be more thankful, grateful, and wonderfully tired.  I have completely dove headfirst into the pursuit of bringing my art and photography to life.  I have met the most incredible people in front of my camera and met some kindred spirits by sharing my art.  What did I learn from this?  Get out there!!  Be you!!  Be exact20161101_201631ly who you are because there is a whole world out there that will welcome and love your colorful self.  I have spent way too long in my years thinking that I was too eccentric, too odd, too quirky for the normalized world.  Oh… my…word…. normal is over rated.  (no offense to the normal folk) I learned that I LOVE this round peg and it probably won’t ever fit in a square hole.   The best part of all of it is getting to engage with the most beautiful part of humanity and either deliver their precious work of art or capture the beautiful moments in their life.  I do what I do because bottom line I love it.  I love photographing families, playing with babies, seeing new love, seeing love that’s endured trials.  I love talking with someone about their dream piece of art and seeing their excitement as I help them bring it to life.

I have met artists that I have learned so much from and I am so excited to see where it goes from here.  I learned that I LOVE TO TEACH.  I love to help someone learn and realize that they have the capability to do things that they never thought possible.  My goals for the upcoming year are to keep my camera clicking and my hands working as much as possible.  I also have a goal of getting so much more organized.  I would like to bring regular blog entries and youtube videos.  I would also…really …really … really.. like to get my work entered in a few more competitions.  It isn’t about winning it’s about getting out there.  I know I’m going on and on but I sit here at my desk in awe of what I’ve learned and in summary I have learned that life is fleeting, moments are priceless and if you can make the world a little more beautiful in any way possible get out there and do it!  Thanks for sticking with me this year.  Here’s to a spectacular ride.
